The Warriors play in the NBA G League and announced their intention to join the NBA as an expansion team in 1970. They were founded in 1946 as the Philadelphia Warriors, a charter member of the Basketball Association of America (BAA). They won an ABA championship in 1975, losing in six games to the New York Nets in the NBA Finals.The Warriors have lost only once since relocating to San Francisco for the 1971–72 season.
