The shirt celebrates Max Fried and Southern Fried Sunday (aka Fried Day), the team’s annual day to support the Alzheimer’s Association. Proceeds from sales of this specialty T-shirt will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. The Southern Fried Sunday movement was created by Nick Punto and Craig Kimbrel, but it took on a life of its own after Fried (Punto’s nephew) became involved when he joined the Braves in August 2015. Since then, multiple players often wear shirts that are made by their teammates.
