For the first time in years I’m wearing a real 10-gallon cowboy hat, which I bought for myself this past Fourth of July. (Bought it from the head of my favorite Western band, too.) It’s made out of straw and felt and has a wide black band, a gold band on the bottom, and “Ted Lasso” embroidered across the front. I love to wear it with Ted Beard’s big black beard hanging out one side and Roy Nate’s thick gray hair poking out the other. If it was just me looking like that, I’d need Vicki Bowe’s blue T-shirt that says “Cowboys,” but with those other two old cowboys beside me, it makes perfect sense.
