MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell Proposes Election Security Role Under Trump Administration
Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, has expressed his readiness to step into a federal election security role should President-elect Donald Trump appoint him. In a recent interview withWired, Lindell reaffirmed his commitment to his ongoing crusade for what he calls “election integrity,” even after Trump’s victory in the 2024 election.
“I’ve been trying to get rid of these electronic voting machine companies in the United States for four years,” Lindell explained. “That’s been my whole focus. And that doesn’t stop, but hopefully it gets easier.”
Despite widespread conclusions from cybersecurity experts that there was no evidence of significant fraud in the 2020 election, Lindell has personally invested $40 million to challenge the results, according toWired. His efforts have sparked heated debate and drawn widespread criticism, yet Lindell remains undeterred.
“I haven’t taken a break,” he insisted. “After the election, I went on my annual hunting trip with my sons and my nephew. That was two days, but I was actually working from the deer stand. I’m always working on my phone.”
Lindell envisions a new agency dedicated to election security under Trump’s administration and expressed confidence in his team’s ability to take on the responsibility. “Oh, absolutely, my team would plug right in,” he declared.
The Current Landscape of Election Security
The federal government already has an agency tasked with safeguarding election infrastructure: the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Following the 2024 election, CISA Director Jen Easterly announced, “There is no evidence of any malicious activity that had a material impact on the security or integrity of our election infrastructure.”
Despite these assurances, Lindell continues to push for more stringent measures, positioning himself as a key advocate for election reform. His proposals, however, remain controversial, with critics questioning the validity of his claims and the practicality of his approach.
