I’ve always had a thing for mystery books and movies and especially the ones that involve a million dollar heist in which the thief is always one step ahead of the people on his trail. So it’s really no wonder that I was looking forward to reading The Art Forger by B.A. Shapirowith quite a bit of excitement. The plot looked to be straight out from a blockbuster Hollywood studio and I just couldn’t wait to get started!

The plot is loosely based on an actual art heist that happened during 1990 and it’s great to see how Shapiro cleverly bases an intriguing tale around that. It’s set in an around Boston so people from there or those that frequently visit the city will surely be able to identify with a lot of places mentioned in the book. I was also quite amazed at the high amount of research that went into writing this book because there’s a lot of interesting background details on the history of art along with famous art robberies.

I really don’t want to spoil the plot by giving out too much detail but I really loved The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro and would give it a 4 Star rating out of 5!
